Joy Hall married Archie Boone and they have been married for 39 years. They have a daughter, Kelly (38), who is the Director of Christian Education at Bethesda Presbyterian Church, Camden, SC and a son, Austin (33), who is a teacher and coach at Thomas Sumter Academy in Dalzell, SC. They have a grandchild, Dalton (3).

Joy retired from the State where she served as Administrative Assistant to the Solicitor of the 12th Judicial Circuit (Florence & Marion Counties) and Senior Administrative Assistant to the Solicitor of the 3rd Judicial Circuit (Sumter, Clarendon, Lee and Williamsburg Counties) for 28 years. Joy is active in her church where she serves as an Elder, Chairman of the Worship Committee, Treasurer of the Women of the Church and Sunday School Class and a member of the choir. She is an avid bowler and novice golfer.
